Our Mission Statement
The mission of Working Minds, Inc. is to provide a safe space for students to come after school where they can interact with peers, get help in school, learn a new skill and relax.
This facility will provide students with access to a variety of educational, social and vocational skills. We hope to add specific classes for students to participate in based on their feedback. |
The youth of this community need our support and guidance. There is so much that this community has to offer and we need to help connect our youth to these options so they can feel like a part of the community.

Building a better space |
Working Minds, Inc. is a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization. Our goal is to encourage the development of our community, to provide safe spaces for our young people to learn and grow.
Our first project is to create DeWitt's first youth center. This center will focus on an afterschool location for students in the DeWitt Public Schools in grades 6-12. DeWitt Public Schools have approximately 1,500 students in grades 6-12 but there isn't a consistent, local and safe after school program for these students. |
Panther Activity Center - "The PAC"
Working Minds, Inc. is developing an after school location where students can come and meet with their friends in a safe environment. We intend to have 4 major areas at our facility: Quiet space, Tutoring services, Arts and Gaming. The Quiet Space will have a small, independent library and an area for reading. It is also intended that this area will have space for students to play board games or card games with others. The Tutoring Center will have students available to provide additional academic support for students. We will be employing between 2 and 4 volunteers to provide help in a number of classes. We will continue to grow this area as is needed by the students. The Creation Arena will be designated for a variety of art options. We will have supplies available for students to use and hope to encourage students to be creative through painting, writing, drawing and music. The Chill Zone is intended to be an area where kids can play a variety of age-appropriate video and/or computer games. We plan to have 2 game systems available for students to use. |
